TO QUALIFY TO JOIN AS A MUSIC ITINERANT YOU WOULD:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching Piano / Voice in a similar school environment to St John’s D.S.G.
  • Hold a performance qualification.
  • A Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Education (Music), or an equivalent music qualification is advantageous, with a PGCE (preferable).
  • Be proficient teaching at all skill levels, both Voice and Piano is preferable.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and requirements for both subject and non-subject pupils across the Junior and Senior Schools.
  • It is recommended to be available for two or more afternoons/days per week to accommodate the school timetable.
  • Accompaniment skills are beneficial.
  • Have administrative skills and be able to submit invoices.
  • Be warm, engaging, resilient, honest, genuine, empathetic and kind.
  • Have excellent teamwork, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Have strong values that align to the Christian ethos of the school.
  • Have a clear criminal clearance certificate.
